About Geri-Care Connections

Geri-Care Founder, Rinda FarnhamIn 1990, Geri-Care Connection began serving our clients in the lower Fairfield County area.

Our first client was an Alzheimer's patient named Buffy. For three years we provided her with 24-hour care. During this time, we worked closely with Buffy's doctor from Yale, who instructed the caregivers how to care for her. Meanwhile, I began to receive telephone calls from many other people who had family members who wished to stay at home and still receive quality care. I am a firm believer that home care is far superior to that of any other care. Having the same caregiver for a patient provides the warm comfort and security that the elderly need.

Geri-Care's superior reputation is what made this company grow to be as successful as it is today. We provide reliable, professional care on all levels and we remain as involved as you like with the daily activities of your loved one. We can provide you or your family member with a companion, PCA, HHA, CNA, LPN, or RN.

We have over 3,000 caregivers registered with us. Each applicant goes through a rigorous screening process. Each person must provide us with three professional references and all are carefully checked before we place the caregiver on any position. We do criminal background checks on each care giver. We have all license, social security, and certificate information on file for each person.

I feel that it is important to know all of my clients and their needs before placing a caregiver in their home to care for them. I personally perform the placement for each client. It helps to know what the client is looking for in a caregiver, so that we may make that perfect match. We have many older clients like Lydia, who is 103 years old and has been a client for over 3 years and Dr. P, who is 100 years old and has been a client for four years.

I have a degree in Mental Health and Human Services and I have an R.N. on staff, who will meet with clients for medical assessments. We can work with the family independently to assess what care best suits the patient and/or work in conjunction with doctor and hospital orders.

Geri-Care is a full service company; we provide many services for the elderly. We provide people who will go the extra mile, roll up their sleeves and go a little better than 100%. As the owner of the business, I am a hands-on person. I try to sprinkle a positive attitude among the caregivers.

I owe the success of Geri-Care to my mother who died of Alzheimer's in 1989. She showed me from a young age what caring really was all about. She helped so many less fortunate people in her life and she showed me that this was the thing to do. She was cared for in her home for 4 years by wonderful caregivers, who loved her just like they loved their own mothers. Those same caregivers are now working for Geri-Care.
